Objectives
The main objective of the course is to provide a framework for the usage of computers in the industrial automation area.
Program
PLC applications and advanced programming. Computers and Operating Systems. Embedded Systems. Severs and Clients. Industrial communications: point-to-point communications and industrial networking. Supervisory Control. SCADA Systems. HMI, Telemetry.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Two hours a week theoretical oriented classes serve explanation and tutorial purposes. Problem solving classes and hands-on lab classes illustrate the most important theoretical topics of the discipline, and put the students in contact with the industrial computing related technology.

Several PLC programming packages, HMI programming software packages (OMRON and Siemens), Supervisory control (Citect).
