Resumo (PT): A temática dos incêndios rurais é abordada na disciplina de Geografia no 9.º ano de escolaridade, do ensino regular. Por isto, é pertinente refletir de que modo é que esta disciplina pode ter um papel interventivo na sensibilização e corresponsabilização dos alunos. O principal objetivo desta investigação foi incitar à reflexão dos alunos e à análise da perceção por parte dos mesmos sobre os impactes dos incêndios rurais na sociedade, no território e no ambiente. A metodologia foi dividida em duas fases, na primeira os alunos realizaram um teste diagnóstico, o qual foi aplicado através da ferramenta Socrative. Na segunda fase realizaram uma pesquisa em grupo, na qual cada grupo selecionou e analisou um distrito e respetivos parâmetros de análise previamente estabelecidos no guião de trabalho. Em termos globais, foi possível constatar que a perceção dos alunos ultrapassou as expectativas iniciais, uma vez que os alunos identificaram os impactes ao nível ambiental e territorial. No entanto, em relação ao nível social os alunos manifestaram algum desconhecimento. A nossa investigação decorreu no Colégio Nossa Senhora de Lourdes, localizado no município do Porto.

Abstract (EN): The theme of rural fires is addressed in the subject of geography in the 9th year of schooling, in regular education. For this reason, it is pertinent to reflect on how this might influence the awareness and co-responsibility of students. The main objective of this research was to encourage students to reflect on and analyse their perception of the impacts of rural fires on society, territory, and the environment. The methodology had two stages; the students first performed a diagnostic test, which was provided through the Socrative tool, and then they carried out a group survey in which each group selected and analysed a district and the respective analysis parameters developed in the work guide. Overall, it was found that the students' perception surpassed the initial expectations, since they identified the impacts at an environmental and territorial level. However, in relation to the social level the students showed a certain lack of knowledge. Our research was carried out at Colégio Nossa Senhora de Lourdes in the municipality of Porto
