MAP-tele Seminar: "The Maritime Internet of Everything", issued by Rui Campos

The MAP-tele Seminar Series on Telecommunications is organized by the MAP-tele Doctoral Programme, and is a part of the (MAP-tele) Seminar course, DEEC, FEUP. You are all welcome to attend the MAP-tele Seminar series on Telecommunications. It will be held , on the 27th of november a talk untitled " The Maritime Internet of Everything ", delivered by Rui Campos, from FEUP. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Abstract: In this talk I will go through the research work we have been doing at INESC TEC on maritime wireless networks, in order to enable the Maritime Internet of Everything paradigm in the long term. I will start with our vision and target environments, including airborne, surface, and underwater. Then, I will refer to ongoing R&D projects and theses within this area of research, including the resulting prototypes and testbeds. I will conclude the talk with a reference to the opportunities and challenges within the maritime wireless networks area. Short Bio: Rui Campos has a PhD degree in Electrical and Computers Engineering in 2011 from University of Porto. He is the coordinator of the "Wireless Networks" research area at INESC TEC and he has been an invited Assistant Professor at University of Porto. He is the author of 40+ scientific publications in international conferences and journals with peer review. He has coordinated several research projects and participated in several EU research projects, and he is currently the coordinator of the BLUECOM+ project. His research interests include wireless mesh networks, maritime networks, underwater radio networks, and flying multi-hop ad-hoc networks, with special focus on the following aspects: medium access control, radio resource management, mobility management, and network autoconfi guration. :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Disclose your events and projects by e-mail noticias@fe.up.pt.
