The Doctoral Program in Chemistry aims to offer advanced education and training in all areas of Chemistry by promoting excellence in research, pushing forward the limits of scientific knowledge.
It is also desirable that part of the future Doctor's degrees in Chemistry have professional success outside the academic environment. Thus the program permanent aim, throughout the training cycle, is to promote the development of other skills beyond the training in chemistry. The program is therefore designed to create opportunities for the education of the doctoral student, particularly regarding the development of soft skills of communication, scientific ethics, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Currently, the specific conditions for admission to the present cycle of studies are to have a master's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Materials Sciences, Bioengineering, Environmental Engineering or related areas. All candidates who have these requirements will be eligible to enter the study cycle, in the branch without a defined specialty or in the specialty of Technological Chemistry. To access in the specialty of Theoretical Chemistry and Molecular Modeling, candidates must have a 2nd cycle with a predominant area of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or related areas.
Candidates who have the appropriate master's degree will be ranked first.
The ranking will be done according to the following criteria:
For selection purposes, the order of admission to the 3rd Cycle of Studies in Chemistry is as follows:
Ranking. Candidates will be ranked in descending order of the final classification, considering the following parameters:
Scientific publications in national or international journals (0-8), books and book chapters (0-2), panel communications (poster) (0-2) and oral communications (0-4), participation in projects with competitive funding (0-2), prizes (0-2).
