Ranking Criteria

- Academic path (PA) evaluated by the average obtained in the cycle(s) of studies of origin (on a scale from 0 to 200): weight a%, according to the values in Table 1;
- Career path (PP) (on a scale from 0 to 200): weight b%, according to the values in Table 1;
- Soft skills (CCR) evaluated by means of an interview (on a scale from 0 to 200): weight c%, according to the values in Table 1.

Ranking Criteria Weighting

Table 1: Ranking criteria weighting for TLA (Holders of first degree in an Appropriate Area) applications

Ranking criteria MIB MIEC MIEA MIEEC MIEGI MIEIC MIEM MIEMM MIEQ
PA: a% 50 80 80 80 50 80 80 80 80
PP: b% ----- 20 20 20 10 20 20 20 20
CCR: c% 50 ----- ----- ----- 40 ----- ----- ----- -----

Notes:

1 - In the 1st and 2nd phases, only applicants with a ranking grade equal to, or higher than, 140 points (on a scale from 0 to 200) will be admitted, and they must provide supporting documents attesting that they have completed the necessary qualifications to apply.

2 - In the 3rd phase, applicants who have completed or are expected to complete the cycle of studies by the end of the application deadline will be accepted for ranking. If applicants do not have a graduation certificate yet, they must present a declaration of honour stating that they have completed the necessary qualifications to apply. Placed applicants will only be able to enrol after they present the said certificate.

3 – For the Master in Engineering and Industrial Management (MIEGI), only applicants with a final application grade equal to, or higher than, 130 points (on a scale from 0 to 200) will be admitted. This final grade is based on the weighting of the PA, PP and CCR criteria shown in Table 1.

Tie-Breaking Criterion
In the event of a tie, priority will be given to applicants with the highest number of accumulated ECTS credits (number of ECTS credits subsequently transferred to the students) in areas of the cycle of studies they are applying for.
If this criterion is not sufficient, an interview will break the tie.

Documents Required

  • ID document (ID Card / Citizen Card / Passport) or declaration containing the identification data  (mandatory);
  • Graduation certificate regarding a higher education degree (mandatory);
    - In the 3rd phase, if you have already graduated but do not have the corresponding certificate yet, you must submit a declaration indicating the completion date and the final grade you expect to obtain, and your enrolment will be subject to the presentation of the corresponding certificate within the deadlines indicated;
  • Certificate of the higher education institution listing the curricular units in which you got a passing grade, indicating the regime (semester/year) and the number of credit units/ECTS. If you cannot obtain a certificate which includes all this information, you must add a detailed list of the curricular units completed, and include all the missing information (mandatory);
    - Enrolment will be subject to the presentation of the corresponding certificate within the deadlines indicated;
    - UP students are only required to scan and attach the information included in their “Percurso Académico” (Academic Pathway).
    (Obs: The curricular units indicated in this document must be considered in the credit transfer process.)
  • Curriculum vitae (mandatory);
  • Declaration of honour stating that you do not hold a degree regarding the cycle of studies you intend to apply for (mandatory);
  • Written request indicating that you wish to obtain the Master degree under the Regulation of FEUP for the award of the Master degree to holders of pre-Bologna Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) (only available in Portuguese) (credit transfer regarding training acquired on a Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) before the Bologna process and submission of a detailed report) (optional);
  • Photo (passport-size colour photo, preferably with a neutral background; 200 pixels height x 140 pixels width; JPEG format; medium or high quality of the JPEG compression algorithm) (optional).

Placed applicants who have any pending document in their application process will only be able to enrol after they deliver/send the said document.
