Objectives
This course aims to acquaint students with knowledge on the hydraulics field, that they did not have the chance to learn in the course of General Hydraulics. This course aims to acquaint students with hydraulic and structural dimensioning (dam work), stream derivation (strategies), and environmental issues regarding construction.
At the end of the course, students should be prepared to take part of a design, surveying and construction team for hydraulic works and hydroplants.

Teaching methods and learning activities
At the beginning of the year contents of the subject are presented to the students; due to the great variety of the topics it is important to get a good coordination between theoretical classes and more practical ones. The Professors Team owns a deep theoretical professional and practical experiences; Theoretical Classes are complemented with the solving of practical questions, mainly real problems that have happened, in the past, on Hydraulic Works.
Quite a rich professional living experience is transmitted in classes to students, which is quite important. It is also very important the set of technical visits either to already built to plants or to others still in construction.
