Objectives
It is aimed that the student develops the creative mathematical thinking, integrates concepts and learns techniques related to Linear Algebra and Analytical Geometry, namely on the following contents:
- Linear Systems.
Solving Linear Systems; •Linear Geometry in Rn; Diagonalization;
- Vector Spaces
• Definition of vector space; Linear combinations and independence; Basis and dimension;
- Applications between Spaces
• Homomorphism; Isomorphisms; Calculation of linear maps; Change of basis; Projections;
- Similarity
Complex Vector Spaces; Determinant of a Matrix; similarity; Nilpotency; Jordan Form; Conics, Quadratics;
- Familiarization with computer tools for solving Linear Algebra and Analytical Geometry exercises.
Program
All items mentioned above will be approached, being the following items emphasized: Algebraic Structures; Matrices; Linear Systems of equations; Determinants; Vector Spaces; Eigenvectors and Eigenvalues, Linear Transformations, Euclidean Spaces, Vector Calculus, Bi and Tri-dimensional Analytical Geometry.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical Classes - Exposition and development of the course's contents. Thematic lectures given by invited teachers and focused on particular themes of the contents.
Theoretical-Practical Classes - Resolution of practical exercises on contents previously studied in theoretical classes. Delivery of short sheets with complementary exercises that the student will try to solve individually and outside the classroom.

Eligibility for exams
The attendance at practical classes is compulsory, • except for the cases specified in the legislation (working students and other special evaluation students). A student cannot exceed the absence limit (25% of the practical classes), otherwise he will not attain frequency.
