2. If you want to request credit transfer regarding prior training or work experience, you must do so during the registration period (from 25th August to 4th September 2020), on your student's personal page, using the option "Reconhecimentos" (Credit transfer)/ "Lista de pedidos de reconhecimentos" (List of credit transfer requests)/ "Criar Pedido de reconhecimento" (Create credit transfer request). For more information about credit transfer, see the Students’ information page.

3. Students can choose one of the following regimes:

- At the University of Porto, full-time students can register for up to 75 ECTS per academic year, with a maximum of 42 ECTS per semester, except when registering in the first year for the first time in First Cycles of Studies or Integrated Masters, where those limits are 60 and 30 ECTS credits respectively (see the Regulation No. 844/2018, of 19th December - amendment to the Regulation of the maximum number of credits a student can register for in each academic year and semester at the University of Porto – only available in Portuguese).

In the year of completion of their cycle of studies, the annual limit can go up to 81 ECTS and up to 48 ECTS per semester in the cases where, with the approval of that limit, the student may complete the cycle of studies. To register up to these limits, students must present their curricular units registration form validated by the Director of the Cycle of Studies (DCS) during the registration period for curricular units or when registering for the special examination period for completion of the cycle of studies (resulting from attending the Dissertation in exclusivity).

At FEUP, students can also register for curricular units up to 81 ECTS per academic year if they are registered for more than one cycle of studies/continuing training that is not to be considered for their academic path (they must not exceed the limit of 75 ECTS in their cycle of studies at FEUP, except if they are in the year of completion).
Note: ECTS credits set out for registration in language training are not taken into account for these limits.

- Part-time - in accordance with the resolution of the General Board, dated 17th June 2019, students can register part-time as indicated in the following table:

Number of ECTS credits of the part-time registration
Up to 18 ECTS credits
From 19 to 37.5 ECTS credits
From 38 to 40.5 ECTS credits*
Registration exclusively for non-curricular components - research work and the writing of dissertation, thesis, internship or project and corresponding reports
* Only for students who have all the necessary registrations for the duration of the cycle of studies and who may complete it in the year/semester corresponding to these limits, as approved in the meeting of the Board of Deans of 6th November 2017.

-In the enrolment process, students can choose to register part-time for up to 37.5 ECTS per academic year in a given cycle of studies [see the Regulation for Part-time Student Regime of the University of Porto (only available in Portuguese) and the Rules for full-time/part-time registration].
Note: ECTS credits set out for registration in language training are not taken into account for these limits.

Exceptionally, students who have all the necessary registrations for the duration of the cycle of studies and who may complete it with a registration for up to 40.5 ECTS may choose to register and attend part-time (in accordance with the resolution of the Board of Deans, dated 6th November 2017). In such cases, when registering for curricular units up to 37.5 ECTS (from 25th August to 4th September 2020), students must send an email to acesso.ingresso@fe.up.pt requesting registration for the curricular unit that is missing.

The part-time registrations considered for the purpose of enforcing periods of limitation shall always correspond to half registration (0,5 registration), regardless of the number of credits for which the student is registered.
