An alternative, and more catchy, title for this talk could be “Data Science from a plumber's point of view”.
One of the most important ingredients in Data Science is the use of computers programs/applications to treat/process large datasets. In order to do so the Data Science researchers rely on many different tools to meet its goals.
The purpose of this talk is to illustrate the issues that affect Data Science from the low-level components used (the pipes in our plumbers analogy) together with some of the different levels of complexity that come from the rapid evolution and demands from present world.
