Objectives


Understand the main characteristics of entrepreneurship in its various forms;




Understand the historical evolution of entrepreneurship and its place in economic theory;




Identify and critically discuss opportunities, constraints, challenges and trends of entrepreneurship.


Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

Define entrepreneruship;

Understand entrepreneurship's evolution and trends in different contexts and markets;

Recognise and understand entrepreneurship's essencial competences and tools;

Distinguish between different types of entrepreneurship;

Understand main structures and programmes to support entrepreneurship (particularly in the EU).

Teaching methods and learning activities

The methodology result of a combination between theorical presentation and discussion of practical cases. Group discussion and oral presentation of experiences about topics related to the course will be encouraged.

Eligibility for exams

Class attendance is highly encouraged.

Calculation formula of final grade

Students can chose between: a) Distributed evaluation with final exam; b) Final exam.

Distributed evaluation with final test consists of a group assignment with oral presentation (30%) and individual written exam (70%). Students should have grades equal or superior to 7,5 values (on a scale of 0 to 20) in the written exam.

Classification improvement

Possibility of improvement only in written test.
