Objectives
The main objective of the course is to provide a specialized knowledge of innovation and innovation management in a business environment, with a focus on the ways innovation becomes part of the strategic process and its impact on the internal organization and management practices.
Learning outcomes and competences
By the end of the course, the student will be able to:
- analyse innovation processes;
- understand the impact of innovation on the organization;
- understand how innovation can be stimulated within businesses and other types of organization.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The course is organized into six weekly sessions and a final concluding session and combines formal lectures with case studies.
The mix of lectures with case studies assures that the learning goals are attained in terms of knowledge acquisition (via the lecture component of the course) and in terms of skills development (via the option for collaborative methods oriented to the resolution of case studies).

Eligibility for exams
Students should attend at least 75% of the classes. Approval requires a final grade equal to or higher than 10 and a grade in the test equal to or higher than 7.
Calculation formula of final grade
Final grade = 60% test grade + 40% assignment grade
