Objectives
This course aims at raising students awareness to the importance of personal and social skills in different contexts (academic, professional, personal, etc.), supporting and encouraging their self-assessment in this area and the development of skills in these domains.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course, students must:
- Understanding the importance of thinking critically and develop habits and assessment strategies (of themselves and meso and macro contexts) in the area of personal and social skills.
- To understand the dimensions of emotional intelligence and its impact on many areas of life.
- To recognize the personal and social skills as an area of continued development, identifying training and personal work needs to develop the attitudes and skills desired
- Develop effective communication strategies in terms of verbal and nonverbal behavior according to different contexts
- Recognize and identify different time and stress management techniques, indicating the contingent advantages of each one.
- Understand the reciprocity as a transversal element in human relations
- Identify and recognize the determinants and consequences of reciprocity in human interactions.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The combined use of active methods (educational games, world café methodology, appreciative inquiry, individual reflection exercises and teamwork in class etc.) with the lecture method contributes to the development of attitudinal dimensions, cognitive and technical objectives and learning outcomes of the course. The themes have a conceptual framework coupled with a high practical component.

Eligibility for exams
The presence and participation in classes are prerequisites for grading. Absences are absolutely exceptional.
Calculation formula of final grade
The evaluation of the course consists of three components:
- Teamwork assignment I (25%) +
- Teamwork assignment (50%) +
- class participation (25%)
Examinations or Special Assignments
In each class will be given detailed instructions about the activities to be undertaken and the weight for the final classification.
