The curricular unit Seminários aims to provide contributions from diversified areas of Economics and Management, through the participation of several recognized experts coming from three different milieux: entrepreneurs, academics and public or non profit agencies. This curricular unit affords pratical and applied knowledge about economies, at regional, national or international levels, and Innovation. It aims also to provide information generated through case studies that are useful for the Masters scientific domain.
At the end of the curricular unit, each student is expected to be able to discuss the presented case studies.
Contact with case studies and with practioneers.
To develop the capability to apply knowledge obtained in other curricular units.
Seminars were planned in order to receive contributions coming from three diferent milieux - business sector, public organizations and academics – related with innovation. Invited speakers present case studies in areas such as strategic planning, internationalization strategies, partnerships, management of innovation processes, technological entrepreneurship, support policies to internationalization and to innovation.
Presentation and discussion of case studies.
After the time devoted to the presentation made by the invited speaker, there will be period for discussion, all the students being expected to participate.
In the first session, at the begining of the semester, the responsible of the curricular unit will inform the students about the rules and will plan the students work.
There will be 9 to 10 sessions with the presence of invited speakers and 4 to 3 sessions devoted to presentation and discussion of the reports made by the students.
Each student must elaborate and present a report about a case study.

The presence in the sessions is mandatory. Students are not allowed to miss more than three sessions.
The final classification is derived from two components:
(a) Classification of the Seminar Report (CR)
(b) Presentation and discussion of the Seminar Report (CA)
CF = 0,6 CR + 0,4 CA
The student will present and discuss a new report.
