The main purpose of the course is to provide a detailed description of key macroeconomic and financial variables and make clear how they relate with each other. Particular focus is given to the determinants of cyclical fluctuations and countercyclical macroeconomic policies.

Evaluation based on a continuous basis requires the student to attend at least 3/4 of the classes.
Continuous evaluation is based of three tests, each with a weight of 1/3 in the final grade. To clear the course through continuous evaluation, the average of the three tests has to be at least 9,5 (in a 0-20 scale) and the student can not have a mark below 6,0 in any of the tests. To clear the course through final exam the student has to have a minimum grade of 10 (in a 0-20 scale).
