Objectives

The main objective of this curricular unit is to introduce the students to the valuation, mergers, acquisitions and enterprise restructuring topics in order to highlight possible academic research questions.

Teaching methods and learning activities

This curricular unit will use a theoretical and practical methodology. In the first part of the course, the theoretical exposition of the main concepts of diagnosis and valuation of companies will be followed by the practical application of these concepts in companies involved in mergers and acquisitions. In the second part of the course, in each lecture, after a theoretical exposition of a topic related to mergers and acquisitions, the discussion/analysis of a case study will follow. Distributed evaluation with final exam.
