Objectives
The EEA studies intend to help students defining their subject matter for their investigations, organizing and accomplishing a project.
It’s important to gather individual and group work and it’s also essential to have an opinion /contact with experts (senior people). The final result is one paper/report and its oral presentation. Students must make profitable both theory and practice, knowledge acquired achieved during their degree and which can sometimes lead/take them much further.
Each teacher and class have a theme and students have to choose from the topics presented. In this way, we expect to awaken in them the pleasure of scientific research as well as the issue of the innovation and in order to allow them to widen their knowledge.
The added value presented/offered by EEA consists mainly on using coherent methods of investigation, gathering scientific information linking acquirements with the production and presentation of a report It also consists on helping the students building up their self-confidence making them able to adopt the appropriate cognitive style combining empirical and scientific reflection.
The result of this autonomous individual and/or group work is supervised by a teacher.
You will be much happier and probably you will enjoy the experience. The biggest change must be in your attitude towards the work of investigation
Program
The EEA subject is optional but it holds double credit units which means that it will run during two semesters. Work sessions will take place on “Metodologia de Investigação – Investigation Methodology“ and “Áreas Científicas- Scientific Areas” in the beginning of the academic/school year
We could say that EEA programme brings together all the subjects given/taught during the “licenciatura-degree”.

Teaching methods and learning activities
In a formal way, we can consider the classes both theoretical and practical. In reality they are work reunions or seminars where each work group is followed up closely by a teacher.
The sessions on “M.I “ are a normal classes but in other situations they could become something like seminars.
Software
The informatics programs used depend on the kind of work we intend to do. However some of them are essential: word, excel, PP for the presentation of the paperwork, SPSS or Eviews for the statistics and econometrics reports.
Evaluation Type
Distributed evaluation without final exam
