Classification; Decision trees and rules; linear regression;
exploratory analysis of data and data mining; E-commerce.
Operational aims: Data analysis in R. Exploratory data analysis in Economics. Preparation of histograms and linear regression models using some variables; Import / export of data between applications.

Main Bibliography

Lecture notes prepared by the lecturing team.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical-practical classes, including explanation, practical exercises and support in practicals.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Calculation formula of final grade

- It is not necessary to have a classification of practical part.
If the note of the practical part (NP) were inferior to the note of
the written exam (NE), the latter will have the weight of 100%.

- In other cases the final note NF is 0.65 NE + 0.35 NP, except if the difference between 0.65 NE + 0.35 NP and the note of the written exam (NE) were superior to 2, in which case the final note will be NE+2.

The student will pass the subject if NF >= 9,5 e NE>=7.

In periods of evaluation where this is foreseen (see RAC) it is required that NE >=7 as condition for admission for complementary examination.
