Abstract (EN): The minimization of the integral of time-weighted absolute error (ITAE) is usually referred to in literature as a good tuning criterion to obtain controller PID parameters. However this criterion is not often used because its computer implementation is not a very easy task. This paper describes how MATLAB/Simulink can be useful to apply the ITAE criterion to calculate controller parameters.
