This project involves the cooperation of three institutions: University if Porto, University of Cape Verde and Jimma University. The universities involved in this project intend to exchange ideas, best practices and expertise in order to enable an improvement in research planning, development and management structures of each institution.
The main goal to be achieved is to create conditions for all institutions to benefit from the exchange of knowledge and ultimately to improve and strengthen their positions in terms of applied and innovative research. This will eventually lead to an increase of the institutions' quality profile and their capacity building skills.
Other major goals to achieve during the implementation of this project include defining effective dissemination strategies, set structures to find different types of funding and revenue, as well as strengthen research capacity. The creation and implementation of such strategies is pivotal for the survival and improvement of universities which aim to reach top-quality training and research. The institutions want to achieve and maintain their financial capacity through the diversification of funding sources and revenue. Ultimately, the universities intend to enhance their research environment and expertise of all teaching and non-teaching staff. |
