Enrolment and registration must be done online at the School website at www.fep.up.pt
Admitted applicants who are bachelor degree holders will receive an access code in the email address indicated in their application form. If candidates do not receive the access code by email, they should contact sifep@fep.up.pt - SIFEP (FEP Information Systems Department).
Applicants must use their access code, which comprises a user name and a password, in order to enrol and register.
Once your registration has been confirmed, you should access to the Registration Form via the options in the menu on the right hand side of your screen. This form is essential as a confirmation of your registration and in any contact with the Academic Services - Postgraduate Office regarding any registration-related matter.
Note: the registration is only valid after the payment of the first instalment of the tuition fee.
Applicants offered a conditional offer of a place on a master course must collect their access code from the Post-Graduation Academic Services - Postgraduate Office. When collecting your access code, you are required to produce a certificate that confirms completion of your undergraduate studies (if you are unable to produce such a document, you may produce a provisional statement, or a declaration of honour).
NOTE: Online registration will only be accepted once the original academic qualification certificates have been submitted to the Academic Services - Postgraduate Office (the original documents will be returned to the applicant after the analysis of the original documents by the services).
These documents must be submitted on the following dates:
Applicants, who are Bachelor degree holders of a Portuguese university and have received an unconditional offer: by 16th September 2013.
Applicants, who are Bachelor degree holders of a foreign university and have received an unconditional offer: by 16th September 2013.
The originals of foreign degree certificates must be authenticated at the Portuguese embassy or consulate in the country where the degree was obtained.
Certificates, which are not in English, French or Spanish, must be translated into Portuguese and the translation must be authenticated by the embassy or consulate of the country where the degree was obtained.
Full Time and Part-time regime |
The choice of study regime, i.e. full-time or part-time, is made once and only on enrolment/registration, after which no study regime alterations will be permitted.
Full-time program - 60 ECTS is the maximum number of credits permitted per registration in the academic year 2013-14.
Part-time program - 37.5 ECTS is the maximum number of credits permitted per registration per academic year.

Masters Degrees
NOTE: According to article 5 of the U.Porto Fees Regulation, the following applies in the event of cancellation of the registration, at the applicant’s request:
“a) The first instalment of the fees is due within fifteen working days of the registration date;
b) The first and second instalments of the fees are due within sixty working days of the commencement of the academic year;
c) After the time limit established in paragraph b) has expired, the entire fees are due.
d) In the case of students, who, when registering, apply for the accreditation of previous training, the time limits referred to in the preceding paragraphs shall, in all cases, commence on the date on which the student is given notice of the decision made in response to his/her application.”
STUDENTS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR A SASUP SCHOLARSHIP:
Article 6 of the U.Porto Fees Regulations provides that students, who are registering for the first time and who intend to apply for a SASUP scholarship, must submit a duly completed declaration of honour stating they have applied for the said scholarship, signed as per the student’s ID card/citizen’s card.
PhDs
STUDENTS WHO HAVE APPLIED FOR AN FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) SCHOLARSHIP:
Article 13 of the U.Porto Fees Regulation provide that:
“4 — PhD students, who have applied for a FCT scholarship, who have enrolled and registered in a doctoral program, and who are awarded a scholarship, are required to pay 25% of the fees due in respect of the first year of registration if the FCT scholarship commences, for fees-purposes, more than 120 consecutive days after the commencement of the PhD program. The director of the relevant organic unit shall authorise the payment of the fees in instalments to be paid within 12 months after the notice of the award of the scholarship;
5 — PhD students, who have applied for a FCT scholarship, whose application is unsuccessful and who wish to continue to be enrolled and registered in a PhD program, with a curricular component, until the conclusion of the said program, are required to pay the fees corresponding to the duration of the curricular component of the “PhD course”.
6 — If the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia rejects the scholarship application and the student wishes therefore to cancel his/her enrolment, he/she must submit an application to cancel the enrolment within no more than fifteen working days of the date of the communication of the final decision by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, and shall, as a consequence thereof, forfeit his/her entitlement to the certification of any part of the program undertaken.”
According to article 16 of the U.Porto Fees Regulation the following applies in the event of cancellation of the registration at the applicant’s request:
“a) 25% of the annual fees is due within ninety days of the registration date;
c) Once the time limit established in preceding paragraph has expired, the entire fees are due.
The above provisions shall not apply if the cancelation is a consequence of the decision of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia to reject the scholarship application, if the student therefore wishes to cancel his/her enrolment. The student must, within no more than fifteen working days of the date of the communication of the final decision by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, then submit an application to cancel the enrolment, and shall, as a consequence thereof, forfeit entitlement to certification of any part of the program undertaken.”
Payment method
Fees shall be paid via an ATM using the SIBS references generated by the student in FEP’s website on the item “Conta Corrente” (access after validation with username and password).
The following alternative payments are available for applicants, who are not resident in Portugal:
- Payment in person at the FEP Cash Office;
- By bank transfer – contact sfinanceiros@fep.up.pt

Worker-Students At Porto University |
(Regulation no. 370/2011, published in Diário da República, 2nd series, no. 107, of 2nd June)
Requirements for enjoyment of special rights:
It is necessary, for a student-worker to be entitled to the special rights provided in the said Regulation, for him/her to submit the corresponding application to the FEP Academic Services - Postgraduate Office , within no more than 20 working days of his/her registration:

Accreditation of Training and Work Experience |
Article 5 of the training and work experience accreditation regulation provides that:
“1. Accreditation applications may only be submitted when joining a specific cycle of study (enrolment), or when returning thereto (registration), or when registering for an academic year.
2. In the case of relevant training or work experience prior to joining the cycle of study, the accreditation application must be submitted, once only, when joining the cycle of study.
3. Each year, when registering for the academic year, students may apply for the accreditation of training received, or of work experience obtained, during the previous academic year.
4. Exceptionally, a second phase for the submission of accreditation applications be authorised by the body in charge of the organisational unit, when the results of the assessment regarding the previous academic year are published after the end of the period for the submission of such applications.”
