Author of the book "Supply Chain Social Sustainability for Manufacturing" (Springer, 2020) and of several publications in leading international scientific management journals, such as the Journal of Cleaner Production, the International Journal of Production Economics, Sustainability, JASIST, Informetrics and Scientometrics.
Associate professor at the School of Economics and Management, University of Porto, Portugal (FEP.UPorto). Director of the Master in Sales Management and Member of the Scientific Committee of the Master in Management of Retail Operations at FEP.UPorto. Researcher of CEF.UP, the Center for Economics and Finance at FEP.UPorto, and LIAAD, a unit of INESC TEC (UPorto).
Supervisor (or co-supervisor) of over 100 MSc dissertations/ PhD thesis, teaches courses on Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Operational Research, Multivariate Data Analysis, Quality Management, Management and Continuous Improvement (focus: Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma), Social Responsibility and Sustainability Reporting.
PhD from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, in 2004. Graduation from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, in 1996 (Eng. António Almeida and Eng. Cristiano Spratley Foundation awards). MBA in Management by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, in 2007.
Main research interests: responsible consumers, sustainable and responsible supply chains, ecotourism, ESG/ CSR disclosure, sustainability reporting, quality management/ kaizen/ lean six sigma, agile project management, scientometrics.
