Information security at FEP and U.Porto depends on all of us.
Make sure that:
Your password is safe and confidential
Your password should have at least 10 characters (13 characters for users with advanced access) and be complex.
It must include 3 of the 4 following sets of characters:
- Lowercase letters (a...z)
- Uppercase letters (A...Z)
- Numbers (0...9)
- Special characters (~! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + | ` - = \ { } [ ] : “ ; ‘ < > ? , . /)

Do not store passwords in the system;
Passwords should not be written on paper or in visible places;
Don’t use the same password for FEP/U.Porto systems (ex. SIGARRA, email, ...) and personal systems;
Change your passwords regularly, even when the system does not require it.

You use your institutional email in a professional and careful manner
Inappropriate use of your email may lead to unauthorized access to our systems and information.
Tips
- Always double-check recipient addresses;
- Do not open emails or files of unknown origin–delete them immediately;
- Do not send personal information in response to emailed requests (ex. username, password, name, ID number, credit card number, etc.).
No organization will ever request this type of information by email;
- Do not click on links contained in suspicious emails. When in doubt, type the address directly into your browser;
- If your computer detects a virus or suspects abnormal behavior, please follow these steps:
- Turn off Wi-Fi;
- Remove network cable;
- Do not turn off the computer;
- Immediately contact SIFEP
You never leave your session open on the computer
Whenever you take a break from working (service, class, ...), end your session on the computer you’re using.
