Objectives:
Provide an introduction to supply chain management, and its multiple areas / fields.
Describe several models and systems for inventory management, as well as the corresponding solution methods.
Describe the transportation problem, as well as a method for solving this problem.
Describe the traveling salesman problem, as well as various simple methods for solving this problem.
After completing this course unit, the student should be able to:
Formulate a given scenario via an inventory management model or system.
Solve an inventory management model or system by applying the software used in the course unit.
Gather and interpret relevant data / information from the outputs provided by the software used in the course unit to solve inventory management models or systems.
Formulate a given scenario as a transportation problem.
Solve a transportation problem by applying the software used in the course unit.

All students enrolled in the course may take the final exam.
Regular Examination Period
In the regular examination period the only assessment type is distributed assessment. Thus, there is no evaluation via final exam only.
The distributed assessment consists of two tests. The first test has a weight of 60% in the final grade, and the second test has a weight of 40%.
There is a minimum score of 6.0 in each test. Therefore, if a student socres lower than 6.0 on any test, she / he will fail the course, regardless of the overall weighted score of the two tests.
Reassessment Examination Period
In the reassessment examination period the only assessment type is final exam.
Final grades may only be improved via final exam.
