Objectives

Allow the student to apply knowledge of research methodology and data processing, previously acquired in a particular scientific field which should be deepened, resulting in the development of the project leading to the development of the dissertation.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of the process (Final Report) it is expected that the student has:

  •  clearly identified the research question and discuss the gap he want to fill / contribution within the scientific literature of the area;
  • conducted an adequate and complete literature review in the relevant research area;
  • identified and justified, according to the existing literature and consistent with the research question, the methodology to adopt (research strategy to follow, including techniques for the collection and analysis of data to be used).

Six joint sessions of presentation and discussion (detailed plan of the sessions available in the section "Documents").

Individual tutoring sessions.

Presentation and discussion of Dissertation projects / Work Project / Internship produced by the students in collaboration with a faculty supervisor and teachers of the curricular unit.

Eligibility for exams

Important notes:

  § Any behavior of academic fraud, namely plagiarism at any moment of evaluation, will automatically imply the student's disapproval to the course without the right to appeal.

  § If it proves a recurrence of fraud, the Scientific Committee of the master will be able to pronounce itself by the maximum sanction - to prevent the student from accessing the dissertation and thus obtaining the master's degree.

Calculation formula of final grade


The evaluation is continuous and includes: '

- 1 mini-test (15%)

- 2 Reports (Report 2-20%; Report 3 (final) - 50%)

- Presentation / Defense of Final Report (15%)

- If the student does not present the research idea or fails the intermediate presentation, 1 point (out of 20) will be deducted from the final grade.

- If the student fails any of the above mentioned assignments with classification, he/she will have a classification of zero points (out of 20) in the corresponding assessment. A minimum score of 10 in the Report 3 (Dissertation Proposal) im mandatory for approval.

- There is no possibility of approval through final exam.
