Objectives

The course is aimed to give students knowledge and skills both on energy markets analysis and dynamics  and on regulation. The focus will be the european market.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students must be able to recognize different energy markets and different kinds of contracts. They shall also be able to evaluate which contract is more suitable to each situation and to evaluate/quantify risks on upstream investments.

4. Oil and Natural Gas: extraction and pricing. Types of contracts. Introduction to OPEC Game.

Eligibility for exams

75% of total classes attended and a minimum of 6.5/20.0 grade on each of the two tests.

Calculation formula of final grade

FG= 35% of 1st test classification + 35% of 2nd test classification + 30% of the essay classification.
