Objectives
We intend to approximate students with the work of empirical research in their area of expertise and serve as a basis for reflection and motivation for the future dissertation. Specifically, we intend to provide the skills necessary for students to develop dissertation plans, namely that students can identify opportunities for research, designing research goals and develop a methodological plan appropriate to these goals.
Students should be able to:
1) identify and critically review the literature relevant to the research topics,
2) identify opportunities for research and the objectives/ research questions to explore,
3) identify and develop appropriate methodological approaches to the research question identified including tools for collecting and analyzing data,
4) create a schedule of activities to accomplish,
5) develop reading and critical analysis writing habits.
The expected result is the development of the research/ project/ internship plan.
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course, each student should master the basic concepts and skills of scientific research methodology, as well as be able to prepare and present a dissertation proposal.
