Objectives

This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of the importance of policies and practices of people management in the efficiency of organizations and on individual well-being and performance, through the analysis and discussion of real cases.

Learning outcomes and competences

- Discuss the concept of HRM, analyze different models and perspectives on the management of people in organizations.

- Analyze critically the strategic dimension of HRM, as well as the added value of the HR function in the organizational context.

- Identify the critical factors associated with the main human resources  management operational activities, and understand their implications on the behavior and performance of professionals in an organizational context.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Combination between the expository method and the active teaching-learning method. Classes based on a dialogic exposition and discussion of real practical cases, in order to mobilize adequate conceptual frameworks.

Outside the lectures, students should prepare for the discussion of the themes and cases, from the reading of the recommended bibliography and the cases that will be made available in a timely manner.

In addition to the classes, electronic mail will be a fundamental mean of communication.

Calculation formula of final grade

Final grade = Participation and small assignment (15%) + group assignment (25%) + written test (60%) 

Minimum grade in each component: 7

Students who can not carry out the distributed evaluation will have the possibility to take an exam at the time of Appeal.

Classification improvement

The improvement of the classification in the final season will only change the individual test score, while maintaining the evaluation of the remaining components.
