Objectives

The Main Aims of the Course are the following ones:
1 - to provide the students with the key concepts and theories of political science in the interdisciplinary area of political science, political theory, political economy, law and historical sociology of the politic.
2 - to develop an analytical framework to understand behaviour, relationships and systems of power, either at the macro level (Government, Society) or at the micro level (firm, organizarion), at global scale or at national scale.

Module 1 - Power and powers in the contemporary societies
1. Political science, political theory, political economy, law and historical sociology of the politic.
1.1. Paradigms of the power
1.1.1. Conflitual paradigm: power, violence, inequality, domination and authority
1.1.2. Normative-consensual paradigm: power, culture, socialization, consensus
1.1.3. Disciplinary paradigm: powers, "voluntary serfdom" (De Boétie)
