FEP's Master in Finance is included in the Top 50 in the Financial Times ranking
It is the programme in Portugal with the best return on investment, according to this prestigious ranking
The Master in Finance of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP) is, for the first time, present in the prestigious ranking "Masters in Finance 2022", of the Financial Times (FT), entering directly to the TOP 50.
The programme occupies the 49th position worldwide in this exclusive ranking for finance programmes, one of the most influential among economics and management schools worldwide.
"The presence of the Master in Finance in the Financial Times ranking is the result of the work that the entire school has been doing, particularly in the field of internationalization. This is another recognition that encourages us to work in order to continue to provide our students with a solid academic training and to create talent and impact in society", highlights FEP's Dean, José Varejão.
The Master in Finance of FEP stood out as the best programme in Portugal and the seventh best worldwide in terms of return on academic investment (value for money rank).
This indicator, calculated from graduates' current salaries, programme duration and tuition fees, shows that graduates recover the financial investment of the programme in a short period of time.
"Seeing the Master in Finance recognised by the Financial Times as one of the 50 best programmes in the world is a confirmation of the high quality of the training given to FEP students, the strong impact of the programme on the professional progression of our students and the excellent scientific and pedagogical level of its faculty. This position in the ranking will certainly allow an increase in the visibility of the Master in Finance and FEP internationally and we will have excellent prospects to aspire to even higher positions in the very near future", highlights the Director of the Master, Jorge Farinha.
The ranking also valued aspects such as the performance of the career service of FEP in the support and monitoring of its graduates and the opportunities for international mobility provided by the course.
Altogether the Financial Times "Masters in Finance 2022" ranking evaluated 17 indicators that are grouped into the following categories: career progress of alumni, diversity of the school, international experience and research.
"Masters in Finance students have a very high employability rate (over 90% in 3 months) and are increasingly pursuing international careers. These opportunities are leveraged by the significant exposure of students to a truly international learning experience, in the sphere of both double degree agreements with top European schools, involvement in the worldwide QTEM - Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Management network and a high offer of international mobilities in partner schools", adds Jorge Farinha.
It should be recalled that in 2021 the Master in Management of FEP also was listed in the Financial Times ranking, after the School (along with Porto Business School) received the international accreditation AACSB, one of the most important international certifications in the area of business sciences, only held by about 6% of schools in this training area worldwide.
