Sofia Teives Henriques is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Economics, University of Porto. She holds a PhD (2011) in Economic History from the School of Economics and Management at Lund University, a master's in Economics, Energy, and Environmental Policies from ISEG, University of Lisbon (2006), and a degree in Economics (ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon, 2001). Before joining the University of Porto, she was a Carlsberg Foundation Fellow at the Department of Business Economics at the University of Southern Denmark (2012-2014), a researcher at Lund University (2015-2020), and a visiting scholar at the University of Cambridge (2016) and Rachel Carson Center at LMU (2017). She is interested in the intersection between energy and natural resources, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. She has published in high-impact factor journals in Energy and Sustainability ( Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Ecological Economics) and top-field journals within Economic and Business History (ie: The Economic History Review, European Review of Economic History, Enterprise and Society). She teaches Energy Economics and Policy for master students and Economic History for Economics undergrads and is one of the organizers of the Seminars Programme at FEP. She supervises master students in a variety of energy and sustainability topics.
