Personal Presentation

Vítor Matos holds a degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics, scientific expertise in Astronomy (1993), MSc in Applied Mathematics (1998), both from the University of Porto (UP), Portugal, and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the National Association of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA), Brazil (2004) with equivalence given by UP (2005). He toke a pos-doc at IMPA (2011-13). He is currently assistant professor at the Faculty of Economics at UP. His work focuses on the Riemann problems for conservation laws; he is also coauthor of the book Differential Equation Models in Epidemiology.
