Missão:	The mission of the IT Service (SI) is to make IT resources and services available and operational for the entire FDUP community, promoting their use and innovation.
Descrição:	The SI's activities fall within the following remits:
	Manage the FDUP data communication network (backbone) and its connection to the UP network; Manage the infrastructure (passive and active) of the local data communications network; Manage the equipment and respective logical support that ensure the FDUP's communication, information and computing services; Manage the equipment and respective logical support that ensure the IS's communication and information services; Manage the FDUP's IT park; Managing the FDUP's network services; Promote and support the use of new technologies in education; Promote and support the creation of suitable conditions for the use of Information and communication technologies (ICT) at the FDUP; Encouraging the sharing of IT resources at the FDUP, in particular computing resources; Promote the development and use of innovative ICT services at the FDUP; Being a producer of information for SIGARRA, as well as for the ‘News’ module (as far as the respective area is concerned).
