Provide a comprehensive understanding of fundamental concepts in Victimology
Perspective Victimology as a scientific field and its positioning in relation to Criminology.
Perspective the victim as an object of study and knowledge.
Frame central typologies of violence and victimization.
Analyze the physical, psychological, and emotional impact of crime on the victim.
Frame the concept of intersectionality and its application to Victimology, emphasizing the importance of considering the multiple vulnerabilities of victims.
Reflect on ethical issues in intervention and research with crime victims.
Address specific areas of Victimology and reflect on the role of Criminology, both from the perspective of intervention and research.
It is expected that the students will acquire the necessary skills to reflect on the core concepts of Victimology as well as on the discipline's position in relation to Criminology.
The aim is for students to acquire knowledge in the assessment, research, and intervention with crime victims in specific areas of Victimology.
Students are expected to be able to understand the concept of intersectionality and apply it to the analysis of victimization, recognizing how multiple identities or characteristics of a person can affect their vulnerability.
It is anticipated that students will be able to reflect on ethical issues in the intervention and research involving crime victims.
