The programme expresses the relevance of Fundamnetal Rights issues and Europeuan Union Law.

In general: relogious freedom in national and foreign caselaw: critical analisys of legal cases. 

Specific issues: religious freedom of detainees, religious classes in public schools, jurisdiction conerning Misericordias, religious freedom of teachers, right to religious holidays, prohibition on wearing islamic hedscarf in public services.

C) Seminar “Fundamental rights, cultural dibersity and migrations"

Summary: Societies face cultural diversity, not only but also stemming from migration. The seminar pays special attention to the protection of the fundamental rights of foreigners and "immigrant minorities". The reference is a fundamental understanding of cultural identity and difference based on the Portuguese Constitution of 1976 and open to multilevel  protection of fundamental rights.
