Objectives
-To acquire knowledge about the principal indicators and sources of data on crime and justice and other related indicators produced nationally and internationally at micro, meso and macro levels of analysis.
-To provide the students with analytical skills, both at theoretical level and at methodological level on the knowledge produced from the different indicators.
- To acquire and deepen the knowledge and methodological and technical skills necessary for the collection and critical analysis that can support the criminological scientific research.
-Conduct the students to formal thinking applied to the analysis of social phenomena and problems in general and crime and justice in particular from this crime analyzers and correlates.
Learning outcomes and competences
By the end of the curricular unit it is expected that students have acquired:
- knowledge about the key indicators and data sources on crime and justice and other related indicators produced nationally and internationally at micro, meso and macro levels.
- critical analysis skills (at the theoretical-methodological level) on the knowledge produced from the different indicators.
-the methodological and technical skills necessary for the data collection and analysis of these indicators, applying them to criminology and allowing the analysis of phenomena and social problems in general, and crime and justice in particular.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretico-pratical classes.
In the classes it will be described and discussed the main contents and it will be held exercises of application of knowledge. The principal internet sites and sources of information will be presented at micro, meso and macro level of analysis. It will be presented relevant criminological studies.
