Objectives

It is intended that the student develops an original research work leading to the elaboration of his master's dissertation, or develops a project of the type of action research, revealing to have in-depth knowledge in Law.

Learning outcomes and competences

Specifically, it is intended that the student demonstrates being able to integrate knowledge, to elaborate an adequate and current revision of the state of the art on the selected topic, to raise research questions, to select the research design most appropriate to the object and the questions to carry out data collection in an efficient way, to carry out the analysis of data using the most appropriate instruments of the data collected and to systematize the conclusions therefrom by answering the research questions initially set out. It is also intended that the student be able to communicate their conclusions in an effective way and to discuss them in the public tests of the dissertation / project

The program content depends on the research topic, preferably empirical, selected by the student, in the field of Law, for the elaboration of his dissertation or the project.

Teaching methods and learning activities

This UC works under a tutorial orientation, in which the advisor accompanies the original research work prior to the preparation of the dissertation or the project, as well as the writing of the dissertation or the project in compliance with the formal rules defined in the FDUP for the study cycle .
