Objectives

In this subject will be under intent comment and study the scope of the administrative jurisdiction, the organization and functioning 
of the administrative courts and how they operate and the respective legal procedure. 

Special attention will deserve the study of the jurisdictional means and the string of questions regarding the object of the administrative procedure and legitimacy. 

In a justice guided by the principle of the effective and full jurisdictional protection, it will be of enormous relevance to perceive the role played by the judge, 
as well as the proof, namely in the provisional measures. 

Learning outcomes and competences

In the end of the curricular unit the students are expected to be able to understand rigorously dogmatic concepts 
and institutes of Administrative Litigation, understand and critically analyze the regulatory and jurisprudential bases, 
develop an autonomous research and solve real situations that professional practice requires.

Theoretical and practical classes.

Theoretical explanation of the (subject) contents using expose, demonstrative and interrogative methods,
 with regular application of the case-method (resolution of practical situations).

Calculation formula of final grade

Given the prescribed aims, the curricular unit is submitted to continuous evaluation as defined in the adequate Faculty’s regulation and the students will be ask to prepare a written work on Administrative Litigation themes.

In the continuous evaluation will be considered the following elements: 
(i) active participation of students in class; 
(ii) one written test;
(iii) one written work.

The overall classification of a course unit is calculated as follows: 
active participation of students in class (20%) + written test (30%) + written work on Administrative Litigation themes (50%).

Is requeried the presence in 75% of the classes. See relevant internal regulation of FDUP (article 4.º).
