Functions, scope, content, interpretive questions and issues of justiciability
- The structure of fundamental social rights
- The diversity of “status” of fundamental social rights
- The protection of fundamental social rights through legal binding rules
- Forms of protection
- The limits of constitutional interpretation
Students will be stimulated to discuss some specific fundamental rights, deepening previously acquired knowledge and developing problematic thought.
Learning outcomes and competences
Reflecting the increased importance of a basic understanding of Constitutional, European and International Law to legal education and practice, the benefits of this Master’s Course program is most obvious for students intending to specialize in the area of Fundamental Rights, theory and practice, but even individuals who anticipate a career anchored principally in their own nation’s legal system.
The course aims to help provide students the necessary tools to a critical, autonomous and sustained analysis and systematization of issues and problems, as well as to develop personal research skills.

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)
Competences and kowledge previously acquired in the Law Degree - mainly in Constitutional Law, Fundamental Rights and International Law - are relevant.
