Objectives

The aim of this course is to give students the tools to improve their knowledge on some special themes under current development and debate in the Criminology research, allowing them to develop a critical view.

More specifically, with this course we aim that students be able: (i) To identify the most important Criminology developments and their authors, explaining what are the main ideas that they present; (ii) To interrelate fundamental ideas that are behind the topics of the programme; (iii) To identify the most important results, both theoretical and empirically; (iv) To discuss those results; and (v) to show alternative paths for future research. With this course, we also aim that students acquire research abilities.
