1. Making the students conscious of the need for Law History’s knowledge in order to achieve a firm juridical formation. 2. Providing them an adequate learning of the essential content of Roman Law History and of Iberian Law History, till the end of Roman presence, unavoidable cultural foundation, due to the Global and European context of juridical institutions.
Knowing Roman's juridical experience and also Iberian's juridical experience, till the end of Roman presence: Law as the art of just, key concepts with Roman origin, the history of Roman Law and the initial stages of the history of Iberian Law. These results will give the skills, which are necessary for a better understanding of all the subjects included in the Law License Degree.
A basic knowledge of Universal History is required.
Law History: personal understanding. Introduction. Part I - ELEMENTS OF ROMAN LAW HISTORY: Chapter 1 – Essential concepts. Chapter 2 – Political organization. Chapter 3 – The Sources of Ius Civile. Chapter 4 – Compilations. Chapter 5 – The survival of Roman Law. Part II - ELEMENTS OF IBERIAN HISTORY: Chapter 1 - The period of origins. Chapter 2 - The Roman Period.
Final evaluation. Before the final examinations, a detailed program will be available.
