Abstract (EN):
Pale-grey cells appeared in the livers of healthy and non-stressed brown trout Salmo trutta 3 weeks post-hatching whereas interhepatocytic macrophages appeared at 5 months. Cells with intermediate morphological characteristics between those of pale-grey cells and macrophages were identified in all ages studies. Cell ultrastructure supported the idea that pale-grey cells probably belonged to the macrophage lineage, being eventual precursors of the active phagocytes residing amongst hepatocytes.
