Abstract (EN): We investigate the third-order nonlinearity of DANS and DAN2 side-chain polymers by tunable third-harmonic generation and nonlinear distributed coupling. The large third-order susceptibility can be interpreted in terms of microscopic cascading of second-order hyperpolarizabilities.
