Abstract (EN):
A method is described for the determination of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Pb in industrial atmospheric particulate matter trapped on cellulose acetate filters. Electrothermal atomization atomic absorption spectrometry was used for the direct analysis of solid samples (small circles cut form the filters) using the ''cup-in-tube'' technique. The conditions for solid sampling, the introduction into the graphite tubes, and the subsequently atomization are discussed. Suitability of the analytical signal to the linear response zone by maintaining an argon flow in the atomization step is also discussed. The results obtained by the proposed method were compared with those obtained for the same samples using a conventional procedure. The results of the statistical evaluation by linear regression (slopes of 0.933 to 1.058, intercepts of -0.074 to 0.069, and correlation coefficients of 0.966 to 0.988) and by the two-tail paired Student's t-test showed a satisfactory relationship between the two procedures.
