Abstract (EN):
This article presents experimental results of steel truss nodes strengthened/refurbished with concrete encasement. Four strengthened specimens are tested in total, two encased in normal class concrete and two encased in high strength concrete C80/95. The results obtained are compared with one reference bare steel node test. All specimens are loaded with static monotonic loading except the last one, where cyclic loading is applied before it is finally loaded statically to failure. The connection between the concrete and the structural steel is ensured by the application of epoxy resin only, no mechanical elements are added. The strengthened specimens show a considerable reduction of the stresses into the steel gusset plate even for encasement in normal class concrete C40/50.
