Abstract (EN): A clayey soil was improved by means of addition of cement and lime and with an alternative approach using the alkaline activation of an industrial waste (fly ash). A set of laboratory tests, namely UCS, CBR and seismic P-waves, were carried in mixtures with different binder content and curing ages. The results showed that the alkali mixtures have comparable or even better mechanical performances than the best results obtained with the traditional binders.
