Resumo (PT): Visando valorizar o Património cultural de um amplo território transfronteiriço, entre Murça (Portugal) e Monterrei (Espanha), o projecto TSF - Territórios Sem Fronteiras prevê intervenções arqueológicas em sítios-chave, dos quais se destaca o Castelo dos Mouros do Cadaval. Trata-se de um povoado entrincheirado num esporão sobre o rio Tinhela, com ocupação desde a Idade do Ferro, que preserva ainda imponentes estruturas defensivas. Localmente conhecido como sítio de caça aos tesouros, dele saíram milhares de moedas romanas para colecções privadas, algumas hoje integradas em acervos museológicos. Paradoxalmente, este sítio crucial para a compreensão da presença romana na região nunca mereceu a devida atenção da comunidade científi ca. O projecto TSF pretende promover esta reconciliação a partir de trabalhos de terreno iniciados em 2024. Este artigo reporta o início deste processo

Abstract (EN): The TSF - Territories without borders project aims to enhance the value of the cultural heritage of a vast territory at the border between Murça (Portugal) and Monterrei (Spain), by carrying out archaeological interventions in key places, among which the Moors Castle of Cadaval. Th is settlement, entrenched on a spur over the Tinhela river, has been occupied since the Iron Age and still preserves impressive defensive structures. It is known locally as a treasure hunt spot where thousands of Roman coins were found and taken into private collections, some of which are now part of museum assets. Although the site is crucial for understanding the Roman presence in the region, it has not yet received the attention it deserves. Th e TSF project aims to promote the reconciliation with fi eld work that began in 2024. Th is article reports on this process.
