Abstract (EN): The article discusses Histoire, Forme et Sens en littérature. La Belgique francophone. Tome 3 – L’ Évitement (1945–1970) by Marc Quaghebeur. The book is the third volume of the ambitious work led by the researcher for some years. It sheds light on the complexity of a period simply described as “centripetal”, but in reality containing the seeds of the changes brought later by the Belgitude. The author’s wide-ranging work also enables us to rethink the relationship between history, society, writers and literature, based on the history of a culturally dominated people, which places this work at the heart of current thinking.
