Abstract (EN): A simplified non-newtonian EHD model developed previously is used for the analysis of a roller-inner ring contact in a jet engine roller bearing. The lubricant behaves according to the viscoelastic rheological model, with a Ree-Eyring fluid, and the lubricant parameters are function of the pressure, temperature and rolling speed. The traction coefficient results obtained with this model are compared with previous experimental results obtained in a twin-disk machine. Finally, the influence of the operating conditions (pressure, temperature, rolling speed and slide-to-roll ratio) and of the waviness of the contacting surfaces, on the traction coefficient inside the roller-inner ring contact, is analysed.
