Abstract (EN): In this paper a combined hybrid transient stability formulation with an economic preventive control strategy is presented. The hybrid transient stability approach uses a time domain integration method to compute the initial system trajectory and the equal area criterion to obtain the transient stability margins. In order to maintain the power system security it is evaluated that the generators output power should be shifted from the most unstable synchronous machines to the undisturbed units. The reallocation of the generators output power is carried out using an optimal power flow program. The proposed algorithm is applied to a test power network and the results are compared with the solutions produced by another formulation.
