Abstract (EN): Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are cross-sectorial data containers with relevant characteristics of products aiming to enable the circular economy. The European Union (EU) ecodesign directive proposal sets the background for the study as it establishes the framework for DPP requirements and aligns with the construction products regulation (CPR) for that sector singularities. However, despite this streamlined vision, there are many challenges related to stakeholder engagement. The role of key stakeholders, such as manufacturers, must be considered. This study discusses their role, the DPP data framework, and the reasonability of data requirements considering the present knowledge related to developing and utilising DPPs. The sector¿s ability to accomplish sustainability goals relies heavily on effectively sharing product information across the entire value chain. However, due to the challenges, the outlook of DPPs remains unclear. © 2023, European Council on Computing in Construction (EC3). All rights reserved.
